Foley Fling
Going Green’ is the theme of this year’s 8th annual Foley Fling. Designed originally as a way to introduce freshman to the many library services offered on campus, the Foley Fling has expanded over the years to include the departments of Information Technology Services (ITS) as well as Disability Resources, Education & Access Management (DREAM), both housed in the Foley Center building along with the main library. Scheduled for Wednesday, September 17, from 3:00-5:00pm at the Foley Center, this open house event will include giveaways such as pencils made of denim, pens made out of recycled materials, notebooks supporting the Gonzaga CCASL Notebook Project, and Italian sodas poured into recyclable containers. Upon arrival, students, faculty and staff will be given a bingo card that they will need to take around to the various departments and have stamped. At each of these departments, Foley staff will be handing out information as well as giving away prizes and treats. The quick 10-minute tour ends with a free Italian soda made by Foley employees. All students, faculty and staff are welcome to attend.

The Read Wall
Foley Center Library wrapped a wall in paper earlier this year and invited people to write titles of books they have read, books they love or hate, and favorite books from their childhood. The wall was filled with crayon written titles in no time at all. The Gonzaga Community shared ideas and opinions and reminded all of us how impactful a book can be. Here is a list of the titles added to the wall during its 3 months of existence. Thank you to everyone that participated in this great project, we hope to do it again next year.
